 Desktop quoting is our downloadable stand alone system that allows you to get real time availability and price quotes for Porteous products. Once you download the software you are asked to enter your e-mail address and Porteous customer number. The Porteous administrator then reviews your request for use of real time quotes. Once your request is approved you can open the PFC Quote System application to get quotes and place orders right from your own desktop. The requirements: you must be a current Porteous customer and have internet connectivity.  Once you are authorized to use the Desktop Quoting system, the quote entry screen opens with your customer information. Enter either your item number (provided that you have a cross-reference file with Porteous) or a Porteous item number and the quantity needed and then press the submit button. Your quote request links to the Porteous inventory system, checks the branches that service your account for stock availability, and computes your price for the requested quantity. The availability and price information is displayed for your review and saved in the Porteous pending order file. Finally, confirm the items and quantities you wish to order, supply your PO #, and press the Make an Order button. You will receive via email immediate notification of your order.
